Terms & Conditions
By entering the Cambridge SpeechAce Competition (“the Competition”), you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. The Competition is run by Cambridge University Press and Assessment India Private Limited (“Cambridge”).
- The Competition is open to students enrolled in Madurai Kamaraj University (#MAKU), Mother Teresa Women's University (#MTWU), Manomaniam Sundaranar University (#MASU), University of Madras (#UOMA), Thiruvalluvar University (#THIU), Anna University (#ANNU) under the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (Naan Mudhalvan Upskilling Platform).
- The Competition begins on [1st April, 2024; 10 AM] IST and closes on [20th April, 2024; 4 PM] IST (“the Competition Period ”). Entries received before commencement on or after the expiry of the Competition Period will not be valid for entry into the Competition and will be disregarded by Cambridge. However, the entry data may still be used in accordance with these terms and conditions and any terms or consents set out on the registration form on the contest landing page.
- Single entry per person can be accepted. Internet access is required in order to participate in the Competition. Cambridge will select the winners in case of more than one entry getting the same number of likes. Decisions by the Cambridge will be considered final & binding.
- No purchase by participant is necessary.
- In order to enter the Competition, participants must fulfil the following condition
- For participants under the age of 18, signed parental consent is mandatory and shall be produced on demand by the Cambridge. Failing to produce the signed consent would call for automatic disqualification.
- In order participate participants are required to record videos on topics provided over landing page www.naanmudhalvan.cambridgeconnect.org
- Entries are to be uploaded exclusively on Instagram. No other social platform shall be considered. Video duration must not exceed two (2) minutes. All videos exceeding the specified time limit will call for automatic disqualification (hereinafter referred as “Instagram Post”)
- Participants are required to tag us using @cambridgeasia and add Hashtags #CambridgeSpeechAce #TNSDC and University hashtag. Example Madurai Kamaraj University students have to use #MKU in their post copy (content copy of their video) to ensure their entry is eligible.
- Entries to only contain professional English usage and any profanity will automatically get disqualified.
- Participants to ensure that the video submission does not show or promote Tobacco, Alcohol, Drugs & political views. Any entries with such objectionable content will call for automatic disqualification and legal action
- Incomplete entries and any entries, which is deemed by Cambridge to be inappropriate for any reason will not be accepted.
- There will be three (3) individual outright winners who will be chosen after the end of the Competition Period (“the Winners”). These will be evaluated and chosen based on the following criteria:
Round 1
- Participants will be evaluated and shortlisted for next round based on the level of engagement on their Instagram Post. The level of engagement will be measured through the number of likes their posts receive. Additionally, participants will be assessed for adherence to the terms and conditions laid down herein.
- Top twenty five (25) entries will be shortlisted for next round withs maximum number of likes received on their Instagram Post.
- The level of engagement shall be calculated as of 20th April 2024 4 PM IST which shall be considered final & binding for shortlisting the participants for next Round.
Round 2
- Under this round panel of expert will evaluate and judge the shortlisted participants from eligible university based on the on their quality and delivery of content,
relevance to the topic, communication skills, and clarity of presentation of content on the Instagram Post.
- Top three participants will be eligible for exciting prizes.
- Cambridge’s decision shall be final. Once selected, Winners will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained.
- The Winners will be awarded with exciting prizes.
- The prizes are non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged by the winner for cash or credit or any other product.
- To the extent permitted by law, Cambridge accepts no liability in respect of the prizes. They are supplied “as is” with no express guarantee or warranty as to their suitability or quality. Cambridge accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize that are not expressly included in the description of the prize.
- Winners will be announced on the social media handles of Cambridge. If the winner cannot be contacted within fourteen (14) days, their prize shall be forfeited.
- Cambridge reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest if it cannot be executed as planned, including infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the organizer’s control.
- No bulk, third party or automated entries permitted or those submitted via macros or similar. Cambridge may disallow entries, refuse to award any prize, or seek its recovery, in the event of an entrant's fraud, dishonesty or non-entitlement under these terms and conditions.
- By entering this Competition you agree, if selected as a winner, to participate in all related publicity as may reasonably be requested by Cambridge, including but not limited to: press, print and online publicity (which will include publication of your name and may include a photograph of the participants).
- Cambridge accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed or rendered invalid due to incorrect participant data, lack of network coverage, system, software or hardware failure or for any other reason beyond its control. Entries that are not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions and/or that are delayed, damaged, incomplete, altered, illegible or otherwise defective will be disqualified.
- Your personal information: By entering the Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the Competition entry may be held and used by Cambridge or its agents and suppliers to administer the Competition. In this case just the name and their entries.
- Cambridge will only use your personal data as outlined in Cambridge’s privacy policy (http://www.cambridge.org/about-us/legal-notices/privacy-policy/).
- The Competition is not open to employees of Cambridge.
- Cambridge reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.
- If there is a conflict between these terms and conditions and any other terms whatsoever attached to any other advertising material in respect of the Competition, these terms and conditions will apply.
- Cambridge reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time. No correspondence will be entered into.
- The Competition and these terms and conditions (including any non-contractual disputes or claims arising out of them) are subject to Indian law and any disputes or claims must be referred to New Delhi courts.
- Participants to ensure that the video submission does not show or promote Tobacco, Alcohol, Drugs & political views. Any entries with such objectionable content will call for automatic disqualification and legal action.
